Hosta Dracula will form a small to medium clump of 30-40cm in height, with a spread of up to 60cm at maturity. Originated by Marco and Joyce of Fransen Hostas in the Netherlands, this a sport of Hosta Volcano Island. Like its parent plant, Hosta Dracula is a tetraploid, mean it is faster growing and has thick leaves. We think it looks its best in a pot so you can see its stunning red stems, but it will quite happily grow in the ground. The lavender flower scapes are reddish (blood red!) and it bears purple flowers in August on 60cm scapes.
