Hosta Maple Leaf is a large cultivar, forming a mature mound approximately 50cm-70cm in height with a spread of up to 90cm. It shares the same characteristics as its parent plant, Hosta Frances Williams, including a substantial texture and heavily corrugated leaves featuring a deeply lobed base and a distinct tip. The margins of the leaves vary between chartreuse and gold, depending on the season and the amount of shade received. The name derives from its resemblance to a green maple leaf set against a gold background. This cultivar produces large clusters of near-white flowers, which bloom on 90cm scapes from mid-June through July.
