Hosta Halcyon will form a small to medium sized mound of 12"-18" in height, with a spread of up to 36", at maturity. One of the best 'blue' Hosta cultivars on the market. It is a great addition to the shade garden where it forms an attractive, medium sized, dense mound of smooth, flat, spear-shaped, thick textured, intense blue leaves. This cultivar retains its extraordinary blue leaf colour well into late summer, if provided with good light & dappled shade. Halcyon is a slow grower and may take several years to reach maturity. Grown primarily for its lovely blue foliage. Bell-shaped dark lavender blooms appear in midsummer, rising on mauve-gray scapes up to 28". A good resistant variety againt pests, and pretty good sun tolerance.  American Hosta Society Distinguished Merit Hosta award (1987). RHS Award Of Garden Merit
